Hartley Consultancy uses the services of a Subject Matter Expert in Commercial Matters, trading as a Sole Trader under the trading name of Gambit Services.

The Services

The services offered consist of comprehensive commercial and contracts service to small UK based businesses which lack fully staffed experienced commercial departments capable of drafting non-disclosure agreements, contracts, handling negotiations and related administration.

This service may be achieved either by training or providing guidance and assistance to the Client’s existing inexperienced staff, or by acting directly on behalf of the Client - Gambit Services can perform the drafting, negotiation, execution and administration of agreements and contracts for the sale (and exports) of goods and services. 

Also provided is top level advice on related commercial matters such as:

Letters of Credit
Bank Guarantees for Tender Bonds, Performance and Warranty Bonds
Export contract finance
Export licensing
Shipment of goods overseas
Foreign currency exchange risk mitigation

Gambit Services is an Independent Consultancy Sole Trader company, working on an hourly or day rate fee basis, not on a commission basis.

Background

The Proprietor and Sole Trader, Tony Stimson, has over 45 years of experience in such commercial activities, with 25 years of export business experience in the naval and civil shipbuilding industry and some 20 years as a Contracts and Commercial Manager by Thorn EMI Electronics, Racal Defence Electronics, Thompson CSF, Thales with particular responsibility for the drafting, negotiation and, during the implementation phase, the management and administration of contracts with overseas government buyers worldwide.  Also, in the latter stages of contracts, Tony was particularly involved in the Middle East for the company’s products and related services.  He also had responsibility for the drafting, negotiation and administration of agreements with suppliers, customers and business team partners.

Graphics Design and Websites

Just as the person who answers the telephone in a company is the first point of contact, and therefore projects the corporate image, the visual image of the company, whether it is on business cards, logos, headed paper, advertising or websites forms a critical image of a company.  It is rare for a badly set-out page of graphics, logos, stationery or a website to attract Clients.

The specialist services offered by the Hartley Consultancy Associate ranges from logo design, stationery, advertisements, signage, brochures, leaflets and exhibition work through to web design, hosting and related services.

This service, used personally by Hartley Consultancy, is performed by Bramley Design, a Graphics Design, Advertising and Web Services Company. The proprietor, who uses the nomme de plume of Peter Bramley, is the sole trader and he was in the Graphics Design business in Soho, in the centre of London, long before personal computers were readily available!

Staring back in 1970, the business worked closely with West End Advertising agencies to very high standards and tight deadlines, and also has excellent knowledge and experience of graphics printing and production techniques. 

Bramley Design has skills ranging from manual preparation on drawing boards to full computer-generated graphics tools, giving the company a deeper understanding of visual communication and presentation than many of the recent small and inexperienced ‘start-up’ companies (which come and go).
